Legendary Bugsnax are large and powerful Bugsnax. There are four Legendary Bugsnax to be encountered on Snaktooth Island and a fifth residing on Broken Tooth
. Their encounters play the role of boss battles.
Description[]
The Legendary Bugsnax are captured as part of the conclusion to certain Side Quests and all end with the associated Grump to be fed with it. The Legendary Bugsnak can be re-summoned through the use of a statue where it was originally found, allowing them to be fought and captured again. Legendary Bugsnax are found only in the outer biomes.
A Legendary Bugsnak is accompanied by an “underling” Bugsnak, unique to this encounter, and will patrol the Summoning Statue afterwards (with the exception of Cheddorb). While each Legendary Bugsnak is battled differently, all require the use of Field Tools to be defeated. Once defeated, the Snak shrinks, and is able to be captured in the Bug Net.

Trivia[]
- The Underling Bugsnax may cause positive or negative impact on the Legendary Bugsnak.
- In the Mama Mewon fight, Mama Mewon will rush to free Wee Mewons once they've been caught, putting her into the right position to be struck by the stalactites above.
- In the Mothza Supreme and Cheddaboardle Rex fight, Bombino and Cheddorb can be considered Mothza Supreme and Cheddaboardle Rex's attack methods, but are in-turn utilized as weapons by the player themselves.
- In the Megamaki fight, Minimaki can considered the "HP" of Megamaki. Stunning Megamaki allows the player to catch Minimaki, which in turn gradually reduces Megamaki's "HP" until it runs out, rendering it catchable.
- In the Daddy Cakelegs fight, Baby Cakelegs will always follow the boss to the next battle location, unwittingly leading the player right to their master.
- Mama Mewon was the first Legendary Bugsnak revealed, as it was seen in the announcement trailer. The second was Mothza Supreme, seen in the gameplay trailer. Neither Megamaki nor Daddy Cakelegs were shown before the game's release.
- Cheddaboardle Rex was first seen in the Isle of BIGsnax trailer, though its name was not revealed until the update's release.
- Both Mama Mewon and Mothza Supreme are depicted in murals made by past civilizations on Snaktooth. Cheddaboardle Rex is depicted in stone reliefs on Broken Tooth, where it was used as part of a ritual.
- Mothza Supreme is the first Legendary Bugsnak encountered by the player, and in fact the first Bugsnak encountered at all, as it attacks their airship during the opening sequence.
- It is also the only Legendary Bugsnak to be visible and scannable before its battle, as it flies over Sizzlin' Sands.
- Cheddaboardle Rex is the only Legendary Bugsnak whose "minions" are not exclusive to the boss area, as Cheddorb appears rolling around the main area of Broken Tooth before the boss is actually encountered.
- As it is not found on the main island, Cheddaboardle Rex is the only Legendary Bugsnak that does not need to be defeated for the Bossy Bugs trophy.
- Megamaki can be seen swimming in the Observation Room of the The Triplicate Space.
