Cellystix is a giant stickbug-like Bugsnak resembling celery, with peanut butter covering its back. It is found in Broken Tooth, debuting in The Isle of BIGsnax.
Strategy[]
When Cellystix is first encountered, it has four small Chocolants in the peanut butter on its back. In this state, Cellystix is passive, and slowly walks around. Cellystix will become aggressive if any small Chocolants are on the ground nearby, and will be once again pacified once they have jumped back onto its back. To catch Cellystix, it must first be shrunk, which will cause any Chocolants on its back to jump off and grow. If passive, Cellystix can be easily caught in a Snak Trap, but if aggressive, it can be stunned using the Trip Shot, and caught with the Bug Net.
Behaviour[]
Referred to as a "gentle giant"[1], this big bugsnak is harmless by default, but gets aggressive when confronted with aggression. Despite its description saying it unknowingly carries Chocolants on its back, Cellystix's behavior suggests that it is protective toward them.
The default animation of Cellystix (shown in the Journal and when pet in the barn) is real life stick-bug behavior where, in order to camouflage itself as a branch, rocks itself in a movement as if it were swaying in the wind.
On July 2020, this behaviorism accompanied with a dry sentence and memetic tune was popularized as a "rickroll", known as the "Get Stick Bugged lol" meme[2]. Young Horses posted a gif of Cellystix with this text applied as a direct reference to the meme.
Design[]
Cellystix is based on "ants on a log", a treat made by putting peanut butter on a celery stick, and putting smaller treats on top to represent ants. This is most commonly made with raisins as the "ants", which Chandlo's quote refers to.
