The fastest Snak alive. When startled, it will flee to an entirely different region of Snaktooth Island! |
I've named him Joey Quickbeans. He is my best friend. I have been here for a very long time. |
Cappucceetle is a beetle-like Bugsnak resembling a cappuccino drink. It is found in The Triplicate Space, fleeing to other areas once disturbed. When scared it will run to Boiling Bay, then to Sizzlin' Sands, afterwards to Frosted Peak, and lastly to Flavor Falls, where it will then loop.
Strategy[]
Cappucceetle is skittish and flees when it spots the Journalist, and it will leave the current area if allowed to reach the exit. It is the fastest-moving Snak in the game and can even run across the surface of water. It is immune to the Snak Trap. The Trip Shot will stun it but it will normally run away. However, if it is used to block off the Cappucceetle's escape from the area, it will be rendered unable to leave and be made much easier to catch.
It will cycle through Flavor Falls, Boiling Bay, Sizzlin' Sands, and Frosted Peak when scared. It can be found running in the general area where the statues of the defeated Legendary Bugsnax are located. These areas are Mama Mewon's lair, around the islands the Minimaki spawn at, besides the bottom of the temple where Mothza Supreme is fought, and around the first level of the mountain in Frosted Peak near the cave where the Baby Cakelegs reside.
Once the Cappuceetle is caught, another will spawn in The Triplicate Space. Once woken up and allowed to flee, it will begin running around in the other areas again.
Flavor Falls[]
To catch it in Flavor Falls, make a chocolate trail or use the Buggy Ball to lure it over to the path of the Sandopede. If it gets hit, it will be dazed and able to be caught.
Alternatively, start the Mama Mewon fight with the Cappucceetle in the room, causing the Cappucceetle to get stuck at the closed exit. Then, lure the Mama Mewon charging at the Cappucceetle, to stun it.
Sizzlin' Sands[]
To catch it in Sizzlin' Sands, hit it with Cheese, and wait for a Black Lollive to pick it up, allowing you to capture it with the Bug Net.
Alternatively, wait or sleep until daytime for Flapjackarak to appear, lead it over to Cappucceetle's path while it's stirring up a dust devil, and preferably cover Flapjackarak in chocolate to get Cappucceetle to run into it. After being swept up, the Cappucceetle will be stunned upon landing.
A third method is to use the Trip Shot to block the exit, and then lead a Loaded Spuddy over to the Cappucceetle while it is trying to leave. Stand between the two to achieve a collision and pick up the Cappucceetle.
Frosted Peak[]
To catch it in Frosted Peak immediately run up to the campfire past the Scoopy Banoopy and set yourself on fire, then run towards the Scoopy Banoopy and let it hit you. Then, place chocolate on the Scoopy Banoopy as the Cappucceetle runs down the mountain. The Scoopy Banoopy will hit and stun the Cappucceetle.
Boiling Bay[]
To catch it in Boiling Bay, summon Megamaki and wait for them to eventually collide. A more active method is to use chocolate to stall the Cappucceetle by shooting it at a log connecting the two sandy areas and scaring it by coming into its proximity. You can then wait for the Megamaki to path near that area and have the Cappucceetle and Megamaki run into each other.
The second method is to cover the Cappucceetle in chocolate and lure a Green Crapple to pick it up.
An additional method is to place a Cocomite shell near the Cappucceetle's path and set it ablaze, summoning both Cocomites and then covering one in chocolate so the Cappuceetle will run into it.
Trivia[]
- Cappucceetle is the only Bugsnak introduced in the DLC to not be a Bigsnak.
- It is labeled as being found only in the The Triplicate Space in the Bugapedia but can only be caught outside it once triggered to escape the area. Then it will roam the four outer biomes of Snaktooth Island.
- It is not required for catching all Bugsnax.
- In its Cappuccino form, it has two handles on its cup.
- The 'Joey' part of its nickname is likely from the phrase 'cup of joe'.
- Its coffee tail coming out of the top of the mug makes it resemble a spilled cup of coffee.
