These are such great ideas, so I thought of a few ideas for this myself. And yes, you have my full and utter permission to use these ideas if you want.
Filbo has a sub sandopede named Murray. He wasn’t liked by other Bugsnax, he was even kicked out of his old pack and was left to fend for himself. Filbo found him in the same hole he fell in, and now he’s Filbo’s secretary (in his words, “every good mayor has a secretary.”). Like Filbo, he only wants for the other pet Bugsnax to get along.
Wambus has a dr. Sodie named sprinkler. Unlike other sodies, she actually like sauces, she goes as far as to guard them with her life. Wambus found her protecting a small ketchup plant at the bottom of the waterfall. Now she helps he tend to the crops in snaxburg, she also protects them like a guard dog.
Triffany has a crystal sweetiefly named Laura. Laura is extremely curious about the world around her, she can always be seen looking at a random object or Bugsnax. Triffany found her in one of the caves, examining the ancient cave paintings. Now she helps her look for forgotten artifacts and unearthed fossils.
Cromdo has a scorpenyo named Tony. Tony is more obsessed with cheese sauce then any other Bugsnax, he even left his home in the scorched gorge to find some in the sizzling sands. Cromdo found him fighting a bunch of other Bugsnax umpus, of bugsnax within the area. Chandlo found him in the giant temple moving around pieces of debris. Now he spent most of his time helping chandlo and snorpy at the smith/sawmill, moving logs to the saw to be cut, and moving piles of metal to the Smith to be forged.
[REDACTED] has a kwookie named [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] is quite possibly the smartest Bugsnax on either of the islands. When nobody’s looking, they look over [REDACTED]’s theories, changes any of the flaws and adds a few notes of their own. [REDACTED] found them by the [REDACTED]. now they spend most of their time being interrogated by [REDACTED].
Floofty has a green crapple named Hyde and a Sherbie named Jekyll. Hyde and Jekyll have a shared interest in spreading misery on other Bugsnax, Hyde bullies them physically, and Jekyll torments them psychologically. Floofty found them bringing a captured la sodieux to the volcanic cave, and then throw it in and watched the mayhem unfurl. Now they help Floofty gather more “specimens” for her research and experiments, Hyde picks them up and tosses them to knock them out, and then Jekyll freezes them in ice.
Eggabell has a scoopy banoopy named Ivan. Ivan is, or at least he was, the alpha Bugsnax of the frosted peak. His rain as Alpha ended after the whole “seismic activities” issue (that is to say after he saw another one of his kind get killed for something that wasn’t even their fault.), he fled to the lower part of the mountain where he met eggabell. Overtime they grew close to each other, going as far as to help each other out in tough situations. Ivan helped clear rocks and debris away from the mysterious door, an eggabell treated any wounds he had.
